Questions

The rotator and head are designed to handle the power of the Wallenstein grapples. The higher hydraulic pressure and flow rate of an excavator can damage our components.

If brakes are desired, the proper model must be ordered from the factory. It is not feasible to add the brakes in the field.

The rotator has a freewheel function which acts as a shock dampener when rotation is stopped. It cannot be locked solid.

The grapple and trailer can be purchased separately. The base grapple includes stabilizers that aid in mounting on our log trailer, 3-point hitch kit, or custom mounting on a customer’s truck frame or trailer.

We do not offer the winch as an accessory. We only offer the factory “W” and “PW” versions of the log loaders.

The electric trailer brakes have a breakaway switch that applies the brakes in the event the trailer becomes unhitched from the tow vehicle. A battery pack provides electrical back up power in the event the electrical harness also becomes unhooked as well.

The hitch tongue telescopes slightly and is the actuator for the brake master hydraulic cylinder. When the tow vehicle slows down, the trailer tries to continue at the same speed. This compresses the tongue and applies the brakes. The brakes have a freewheel function which releases them when backing up. There is also a lockout which can be used in rough terrain that prevents the brakes from being applied when the trailer is bouncing.

The Articulating Tongue Kit provides an extra pivot point in the trailer tongue that allows the tractor and trailer to turn tighter, for example on tight bush trails. The pivot is controlled by a hydraulic cylinder making the pivot rigid, for example when reversing. The cylinder is controlled by the tractor remote valve lever.

The backhoe accessory kit includes the necessary hoses with colour-coded couplers, hydraulic cylinder, greasable pins, bucket linkage chain hook and hardware. The bucket must be ordered separately. The BA201 replaces the rotator, clevis and grapple head assembly. The cylinder mounts to lugs which are part of the dipper boom. The BA201 plugs into the rotator control circuit. Quick couplers are included in the grapple hoses on the side of the dipper boom to make this easy. Please see the online Accessory Installation and Operation Manual under MANUALS> LOG LOADER & TRAILERS> MANUALS for more information.

The trailer bunk posts are removable. The mount posts for the box use the two rear post mounts, and is hinged there. The box rests on the trailer spine. Because the dump box is intended to be used with the backhoe kit, the box is raised by the supplied chain and the clevis on the on the backhoe bucket pin.

The trailer bunk posts are removable. The mount posts for the flat bed use the two front and two rear post mounts.

The auger accessory kit includes the auger and the necessary hardware. It replaces the grapple head assembly and mounts to the rotator shaft. Please see the online Accessory Installation and Operation Manual under MANUALS> LOG LOADER & TRAILERS> MANUALS for more information.

The LX95 and LX115 are base models. The “P” versions add a single auxiliary valve to run an extra function, such as the hydraulic sliding axles on our “A” and “HA” versions of the log trailers. The “W” versions add the auxiliary valve and the hydraulic winch to the base model. The “PW” versions add a 2-spool auxiliary valve and the hydraulic winch to the base model. One valve spool operates an extra function, the other operates the winch.

The LT30 and the LT60 are base models that include a clevis hitch and off-road tires. The “A” version is available on the LX95 only. It adds brakes and a hydraulically-adjustable sliding axle to the base model, useful for adjusting the trailer balance for traction and tongue weight. The “H” versions replace the clevis hitch with a ball hitch and add lights and brakes to the base model. The “HA” version, available on the LX95 only, adds the hydraulically-adjustable axle to the “H” version. Please see the appropriate catalogue places.

The Log Loaders do not come with any hoses to hook up to a power unit. They require one of our Power Source Options. The L101 Tractor Hydraulic Kit includes a flow divider and the necessary hoses and couplers to hook up to a tractor. The L301 and L601 Engine Powerpack Kits include the engine, pump, tank and the necessary hoses to run the log Loader. The L101 is included with our L400 3-point hitch mount kit.
